Earlier landmark verdicts include a $352 million award in Cruz v. Allied for a catastrophically injured man (2021), a $525 million patent infringement verdict in the Eastern District of Texas (2021), a $222 million wrongful death verdict (2021), and a $115 million award against the State of Washington (2020).
Robert was also part of the trial team that secured an $8 billion punitive damages verdict against Johnson & Johnson in a Risperdal case (2019), selected the jury in the first opioid litigation trial that settled for $260 million (2019), and helped achieve $550 million in actual and $4.6 billion in punitive damages for 22 plaintiffs in the Johnson & Johnson talc powder litigation (2018).
In the criminal arena, Robert has consulted in several nationally watched trials resulting in acquittals, including State of Florida v. William Kennedy Smith (sexual assault), State of Texas v. U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (ethics charges), State of Texas v. Robert Durst (murder), United States v. Robert Kaluza (Deepwater Horizon explosion), and United States v.
